Clubbed

So, I've been busy with the new job, but as fun as high school sports are I still like shooting action and adventure sports in my free time.  When the Smith Series rail jam came up I was more than eager to get some pictures for the paper.
There's nothing like a wide angle to capture freestyle skiing so I broke out the 14mm and got about six feet from the rail.  It was a little nerve racking at first, but the park crew knows me and they said I could get as close as I wanted.
Sure enough as soon as I fixed my settings and started getting some really nice pictures this kid taps his ski on the rail and it sails off his foot.
The next thing I knew I was laid out on the ground  feeling  like I got kicked in the side by a horse.
The ski wouldn't have hit my face because my camera was there, but I think I would have been very upset if it had hit my camera.
All the same it was relatively embarrassing.  Due in part to Brink announcing what happened in real time over the PA system.

I need to post some hut photos, but I used film so it will be a week before I get my slides back.  Take a look at www.themountainmail.com for my work.  (At it's best and worst)
